The NDA in West
Cumbria
The
Nuclear Decommissioning Authority
(NDA) is a new Governmental body
that will assume responsibility
for the UK's nuclear liabilities
in the spring of 2005. The NDA's
200-strong Head Quarters will be
in West Cumbria and will be responsible
for contracts valued at $2 Billion
per year.
West Cumbria has long been the
heartland of the UK nuclear industry
and is now the focal point for an
exciting and innovative new industry
based on nuclear clean-up and associated
environmental science.
This sector represents a significant
growth prospect for the UK's economy
and is an opportunity for overseas
inward investors to play a major
role in exploiting innovative markets.
